QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT DOWSING

Q.     I am interested in becoming a dowser. How do you recommend I get started?

A. There are several books that give instructions. The one most recommended by ASD (American Society of Dowsers) is "A Letter To Robin" written by Walter Woods. This was compiled by Walter from input of over 200 dowsers, in answer to Robin's letter asking for help. Come to our next meeting and we have them for sale. It will be the best $3.00 you have ever spent.

Q.     Where do I proceed from the beginning instructions?

A.     Attend classes when available and also talk to others during the social time/food fest at the Tucson Dowsers' meetings. I have yet to meet a dowser that wasn't willing to share information. The more you learn the more comfortable you are in dowsing for yourself. If at all possible attend one of the conferences. Our Southwest Conference in Flagstaff is coming up in October 2007. Information on that will be coming soon and if you are on our e-mail or snail mail list you should be contacted.

Q.     How can I practice?

A.      One simple way is to take your pendulum or "L Rods" outside and check out the water hose. The rods should cross or move out when you walk across the hose with water off or on. This way you get the feeling of what I term "the pull". After that you can locate underground irrigation pipes and verify the information by finding the sprinkler heads. This practice can come in very handy later if your tree roots plug up the sewer pipe and you need to find the clean out valves.

For the pendulum, a very good practice is to take a deck of cards and shuffle. Turn face down. Then with your pendulum ask if the top card is red. If you receive a "yes" answer, place that card to the right in a pile. If you receive a "no" put it to the left side. Proceed thru the deck. When finished take the red pile and turn them over - you have an instant read out on your accuracy.

Some of you may remember Oscar Branson and Dick Abernathy - two of our original founders. Oscar told Dick to throw 10 pennies over his shoulder into the grass lawn. Then use his "L Rods" to find them. Dick told us later that he found 14 cents so it worked for him.
